The McLaren 650S (pictured) arrives a little earlier than McLaren planned
Just a few days age we had the first tease for the new McLaren 650S, a car McLaren said was aimed between the existing 12C and the hypercar McLaren P1. We speculated the 650S would be a tweaked 12C with more power and styling tweaks, and that’s exactly what it is. Driving has managed to publish the first official photos this morning (albeit in fairly low res) and it’s clear the 650S is the 12C with a healthy does of P1 mixed in for extra appeal.

The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Hawthorn to Hamilton – Britain’s Love Affair with World Motor Sport’. Cue a smattering of iconic names from British motorsport, including Mike Hawthorn who became Britain’s first F1 world champion in a Ferrari 50 years ago and Lewis Hamilton, who is well placed to become his successor. Rinspeed has revealed its microMAX concept car as its latest Geneva-bound offering, which it hopes will revolutionize urban congestion. The microMAX, designed by Rinspeed boss Frank Rinderknecht, explores the idea of car sharing and is designed to be small enough so that it can easily navigate city environments but uses upright seats to maximize space. The five-seater concept is apparently no bigger than a Mini Cooper and has space for a stroller or shopping cart as well as a coffee maker and refrigerator.
